enabling a Smarter energy world
Smart Metering is a key enabler for transforming today’s energy infrastructure to meet the environmental and energy challenges of the 21st century.
How Smart Metering can contribute to a Smarter and more sustainable energy world was the focus of the ESMIG lunch event during this year’s Sustainable Energy Week (SEW).
The event was held on 24 March 2010 in the Residence Palace in Brussels (Belgium). Around 100 guests attended the event.
Several showcases allowed the interested audience to experience how Smart Metering Technologies work, what benefits they have and why Smart Metering is a key enabler in tomorrow's Smarter energy world.
Howard Porter, ESMIG Managing Director opened the main event with several focus presentations by high-level speakers, among whom Henrik Rasmussen (Senior Vice President, SAP EMEA Industries), Mark Weetink (Amsterdam Smart City lead, Accenture) and Philippe Schulz (Energy & Environment Senior Manager, Renault).
The speakers explained why Smart Metering is a key enabler for several core elements of our future energy infrastructure, ranging from smart grids to smart cities and electric vehicles.
