Press release: New ESMIG Managing & International Alliances Directors

01 July 2011 – Brussels During their General Assembly in Copenhagen, 10 June 2011 members of ESMIG thanked the outgoing Managing Director Howard Porter for the excellent work done in the last years for ESMIG and its membership. Dr. Porter will from now on continue his involvement in ESMIG as International Alliances Director. Dr. Porter is also the CEO of BEAMA in the UK, the association for the electrical industry, and has  a Ph.D. in energy efficient housing from the University of Ulster.  

Willem Strabbing assumed the role of Managing Director of ESMIG. Mr. Strabbing has been working in the area of technical process control since he left the University of Twenthe.  After spending several years on systems implementation in the manufacturing industry, he started working in the utility industry focusing on the introduction of Smart Meters and Smart Grids in Europe.
