During ESMIG’s General Assembly on 17 May in Belgrade, Serbia, members unanimously elected Javier Rodríguez (Landis+Gyr) as President of ESMIG and René Böringer (Cuculus) as Vice President.
With a two-year term, Javier and René will now take a leading role in the association, alongside fellow Executive Committee members.
Javier Rodríguez – “Being the longest-standing member of the Executive Committee, elected back in June 2020, I am honored to become President of ESMIG and excited to work with all our members and stakeholders to drive the adoption of smart meters and smart energy solutions in Europe; advocating sustainable and innovative solutions, fostering collaboration, and driving positive change.”
René Böringer – ‘’As Vice President of ESMIG, I will use my interdisciplinary understanding of the energy industry and my expertise in smart metering and technological design of multi-utility systems to actively shape the future of the European energy industry bringing the EU closer to its target of accessible, affordable, secure, competitive, and sustainable energy for all Europeans.’’
During this meeting, Aleš Potočnik (Iskraemeco) and Aleksandar Skulic (Meter&Control) were also elected members of the Executive Committee, serving a two-year term.

The Executive Committee is responsible for the management and administration of ESMIG, guiding the direction of the association in line with our mission and vision. It also acts as a platform for the exchange of information and support network for fellow members.
With Executive Committee members acting as a spokesperson of ESMIG, they also take a key role in public representation and outreach.
