ESMIG partners with Eurelectric for Power Summit 2026 in Helsinki

ESMIG is proud to partner with Eurelectric for the Power Summit 2026: Bringing Power to Life, taking place on 3-4 June 2026 at Finlandia Hall, Helsinki.

Eurelectric’s flagship event brings together over 700 senior industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators for two days of high-level discussions on the most pressing challenges facing Europe’s electricity sector. This year’s edition will focus on accelerating electrification across all sectors to meet Europe’s climate goals, ensuring energy security in a changing world, strengthening Europe’s competitiveness through innovative energy solutions, and mobilising the investment and infrastructure needed to make this transformation a reality.

The Summit’s programme features an impressive lineup of speakers, including Finnish President Alexander Stubb, European Commission Executive Vice-President Teresa Ribera, and Finland’s Minister of Climate and the Environment Sari Multala, alongside leading CEOs and experts from across the energy sector.

Why smart metering is a key element for discussions

Smart metering infrastructure is central to every theme on the Power Summit agenda.

  1. The energy system needs real-time visibility into what’s happening at the grid edge and that’s exactly what smart meters provide. They’re the digital layer that turns a one-way grid into a two-way, flexible system where consumers can actively participate rather than just consume.
  2. With growing cyber threats and geopolitical uncertainty, protecting critical energy infrastructure has never been more urgent. Smart metering systems sit at the heart of that infrastructure, and their cybersecurity and resilience matter for the system as a whole.
  3. Demand-side flexibility is one of the most cost-effective tools Europe has for keeping energy affordable, but it only works when you can measure, settle, and reward it. Smart meters make that possible as the infrastructure behind dynamic tariffs, real-time data access, and consumer empowerment at scale.
