On 18 November, we hosted a joint webinar with our industry partners T&D Europe and Europacable. The webinar aimed to shine a light on the crucial role of the energy industry, manufacturing and service companies in reshaping the European energy system and driving the green energy transition.
Moderated by ESMIG’s Managing Director Tomas Llobet, with a presentation from Mojca Markizeti, Chair of ESMIG’s Regulation and Policy Working Group and Fair Competition in the Energy Sector Task Force, we welcomed key speakers to share their expert insights:
- Vincent Berrutto, Head of Unit, Research, Innovation, Competitiveness and Digitalisation at the European Commission’s Director General for Energy
- Christopher Guerin, Europacable President
- Yann Fromont, T&D Europe President
Vincent Berrutto kicked-off the session with a presentation on key findings from the European Commission’s Report on the Competitiveness of Clean Energy Technologies, focusing on seven technologies that are integral for a green recovery and resilience plans and the move to climate-neutrality.
Following this, participants presented their respective associations and industries. Together they addressed the crucial need to foster a strong industrial base in Europe and maintain leadership in technology and innovation, highlighting the importance of supply chains to ensure strategic autonomy and mission critical infrastructure for the energy sector.
